Welcome David and Darren
RCG Group, the Crawley-based Distributor of Gadgets and Electric Vehicles, announced today the appointment of David Elder and Darren Payton to its Board. Both Elder and Payton were previously Directors of Widget, the Consumer Electronics Distributor behind the introduction of TomTom and Fitbit in the UK. Payton becomes RCG Commercial Director, while Elder will be a non-Executive Director, focussing primarily on RCG’s Growth Strategy and International Development.
David Feakins, Founder and RCG Group Managing Director, commented, “I am delighted to welcome David and Darren to the RCG Board. They both have considerable experience in Consumer Technology and the management of high growth companies. They will help us to consolidate and strengthen our position in the burgeoning market of electric mobility, and to grasp our full potential.”
David Elder commented, “I see significant parallels between RCG and Widget, and I believe there is a tremendous opportunity for RCG to become a Key Player in Europe as a genuine Value Added Distributor. Darren has a unique ability to seek out disruptive technology and bring innovative products to market.”
According to Darren Payton, “There is a gap in the UK for a Specialist Distributor to harness the opportunity to bring interesting new technology to market, both here and in Continental Europe. It is our ambition for RCG to build on its reputation as a vendor-friendly Distribution Partner in the coming years, and to establish itself as a Key Player for New Technology.”
